Introduction
Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital is a government hospital situated on Mahanayak Uttamkumar Sarani, Ashok Nagar, in the Tollygunge area of South Kolkata. The hospital operates under the administrative and financial control of the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, and forms part of the state’s public healthcare delivery network serving the Kolkata Municipal Corporation area.
The institution is named after Tapan Sinha (1924–2009), the eminent Indian film director and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, in recognition of his lifelong association with, and contribution to, the cultural and civic life of Kolkata.
Our Mandate
The hospital provides outpatient consultation, inpatient care, round-the-clock emergency services, minor and major surgical procedures, maternal and child health services, immunisation, diagnostic and laboratory services, and referral linkages to higher-tier government hospitals and medical colleges for tertiary care, at rates notified by the Government of West Bengal. Treatment under the Swasthya Sathi scheme is provided free of cost at the point of care for enrolled beneficiaries.
